Happy Wedding Day!

I was honored to be a part of Frances and Matt's wedding on June 3. Frannie and I have been friends since we were very little girls. I remember playing at her house in Kenner when I was 3 or 4 (so I think). I have random memories of her dad, Mr. Terry, eating olives straight out of the jar. Random but he loves olives! Then again at her big house in River Ridge where we use to play in her Dad's home office. I was in heaven playing with all of his colored pencils. Also, playing in Frances' playroom with her REAL cans of coffee. A girl can dream. The things that stick out in my mind! After that we weren't so close until right after I graduated college. We did EVERYTHING together for several years and those are some of my fondest memories of my 20s. My poor parents and Aunt Nette and Uncle Keith. We wouldn't rather spend our Friday nights at dinner with anyone but them. They claimed it was because it was free, but the truth was we enjoyed it. And were single and had no lives! The Boffones and the Rongeys took me along with them to New York. Already a lover of the city, I had never done New York like that until then. That was a NYC trip of a lifetime for me and one I will always remember. Then I began dating Christian again. Frances and I were still the best of friends, and she was my maid of honor. And then she dumped me. Just kidding! I tease Frannie that she dumped me once I got married and replaced me with a single friend. Watch out Gabby! It's all in good fun!

A couple of weeks ago I spent a long weekend in Destin for Frances' bachelorette weekend. Frannie and I went up early with our moms and Mrs. Candy and stayed at Mrs. Candy's beautiful condo. I am so thankful I got to spend a little time catching up with Frannie one on one before the festivities began. I think that might have been our first time since I got married. We were long over due!

The wedding day festivities began at 11 am with lunch at the Plimsoll Club in the Westin for the bridal party. Hair and make-up followed in the Frances' bridal suite. This was so fun! The only part of my wedding day that I would go back and change is the waiting for the wedding. My parents took me to breakfast, had hair and makeup done, and then I sat in my parents den for HOURS alone. How boring! Then everyone came over around 3 to get dressed and take pics. I loved that Frances had makeup artists and hair stylists come to us at the hotel so we all got to spend Frannie's day with her. What a fun day! This wedding was the prettiest and nicest that I have ever been too (Except mine, of course. Just a little biased!). Frances and Matt were married at First Baptist New Orleans and the party continued at the Westin Hotel. The reception was in full blast all the way until the end. Mr. Terry and Mrs. Susan sure do know how to throw a great party.
